Pathos Project

Pathos Project Undergraduate Program (PPUP)

After great demand from undergraduates the PPUP was initiated in early 2006.

The purpose of the PPUP is to develop the intellectual theory and the human dispositions necessary for the practice of person-centered medicine in future healthcare providers.  Consisting of both intellectual discussion groups and volunteer service to chronically ill patients, undergraduates will be aided in understanding and then forming the requisite virtues and dispositions necessary to practice and foster personalism in medicine.

PathosConnections

A two pronged educational program for medical students, residents, and physicians.  The program provides the tools for its participants to better connect with both their patients and other person-centered caregivers in order to care for their patients as persons.  The two parts are:

I. An institution-based program facilitated by the Pathos Project which offers active professional role-modeling to students and young physicians by exemplary clinicians.

II. An online networking forum to support the institution-based program, which further expands the vision of promoting personalism in medicine by connecting students and young physicians with mentor physicians identified by the Pathos Project.  This online forum will serve as a catalyst through connecting exceptional professional role-models and their apprentices around the globe.
